2020 Virtual Meeting

Information on Coronavirus and the 2020 WRP Annual Meeting

Each fall we come together as a professional community at the Western Regional Panel’s (WRP) Annual Meeting. This is a highlight of the year for many as we take the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our membership, network together, inspire each other, and collaboratively plan for the future!

It is with much we regret, that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 in-person WRP Annual Meeting in Alaska due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. The health and well-being of attendees is a priority when planning the Annual Meeting. It is unclear that we would be able to comply with all social distancing requirements in order to host a meeting in person, and the uncertainty surrounding future predictions for the virus to spread in addition to unknown economic impacts make it nearly impossible to continue planning the event to take place in Alaska.

The WRP will not miss the opportunity to gather, albeit quite differently this fall. We are moving forward with hosting a Virtual Annual Meeting September 14-18. The Annual Meeting Committee is hard at work and will share more details on this very soon. The Annual Meeting in Alaska will now be held in 2021 and the Utah meeting is pushed back to 2022.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the WRP Coordinator, Mason Parker, at mason@stopais.org or the WRP Chair, Elizabeth Brown, at Elizabeth.brown@state.co.us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Western Regional Panel. We sincerely appreciate you!
