Annual Meeting Committee

A Brief History of the WRP Annual Meeting Committee

The WRP has held an annual meeting since 1998. These meeting are held in a different location in the West and be based on the volunteer host. The location is selected by membership vote. The volunteer host is a voting member of the WRP. Typically, the meeting will rotate between coastal and inland locations. The meeting is held in in the fall, either September or October.

Goal of the Annual Meeting Committee

Annually create a public informational meeting that addresses the relevant and emerging aquatic invasive species topics in the western United States and nationally.

Those interested in assisting in the creation of the annual meeting are welcome to serve on the Annual Meeting Committee.

Committee Member Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Meet monthly to develop agenda
  • Provide feedback to host on field trip themes
  • Review abstract submissions for final presentation selections
  • Assist in discussion or break-out development
  • Provide recommendations for meeting sponsors
