The Membership and Communications Committee was created in 1997. The Committee came together with goals to review the bylaws and membership categories every four years, review the membership duties and responsibilities annually and draft letter for ExComm approval and the Chair to send to non-participating individuals/agencies (November each year), and draft a letter for Ex Com approval and the Chair to send to partner organizations in the Coordinating the Coordination spreadsheet (January each year).
Formerly called the Membership Committee, it was renamed the Membership and Communications Committee in 2018. Over the years the Committee has made numerous revisions to the Western Regional Panel’s Bylaws, the most recent changes being in June of 2017.
John Wullschleger of the National Park Service is the Chair of the Membership and Communications Committee.
