Fire Equipment Inspection Workgroup

A Brief History of the Fire Equipment Inspection Workgroup

P resentations at the Tacoma, WA 2018 WRP Annual Meeting demonstrated how Montana was implementing the USFS standards for AIS inspection and decontamination of fire equipment.  Wyoming has completed similar work in the past and the USFS coordinated an effort to produce national guidelines in 2017.

Beth Bear, WY AIS Coordinator, requested that a WRP workgroup be formed to standardize the protocols for western states on 11-1-2018.

The ExComm voted to approve the creation of this workgroup on 11-21-2018.

Goal of Fire Equipment Inspection Workgroup
To produce standard Fire Equipment Inspection and Decontamination protocols and procedures for western states and agencies. Standards will be based on National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) guidelines.  The resulting product will be a training manual that WRP states could voluntarily adopt.
