Committees and Workgroups

Working together to reach our goals

T he Western Regional Panel has a number of Committees and Workgroups that focus on specific issues within the world of ANS. Each committee has a chair that facilitates the actions of the committee, coordinating meetings and putting forward action items in order to better guide the efforts of the committee.

A few of the long-standing Committees are the Coastal Committee, the Decontamination Think Tank Committee, Annual Meeting Committee, and the Membership and Communications Committee. Aside from these core committees there are several others that have come together to address new and rising issues within the study of ANS such as the eDNA Workgroup, the Seaplane Workgroup, and the Fire Equipment Procedures Workgroup.

Workgroups are thought of as temporary groups that have come together to address specific, pressing issues, and occasionally these workgroups become more permanent committees within the WRP.
