Committees and Workgroups
Working together to reach our goals
The Western Regional Panel has a number of Committees and Workgroups that focus on specific issues and emerging needs within the world of AIS. Each committee has a chair that facilitates the actions of the committee, coordinates meetings and puts forward action items in order to better guide the efforts of the committee.There are many long-standing Committees that address perpetual needs of the WRP, such as the Coastal Committee, the Decontamination Think Tank Committee, Annual Meeting Committee, and the Membership and Communications Committee. Alternatively, Workgroups address new and rising issues with specific objectives to achieve, such as the eDNA Workgroup, and the Fire Equipment Procedures Workgroup. Workgroups are thought of as temporary teams that address specific, pressing issues, and occasionally these workgroups become permanent committees.
